– J.S. Bach, Damström, Gliere –

Cecilia Damström, one of the most important composers of the younger generation in our country, is known for her moving works, and her accordion concerto Permafrost (Ikirouta) will now have its world premiere, interpreted by accordion artist Sonja Vertainen. The piece is a joint order of Kokkola Winter Accordion festival and Central Ostrobothnia Chamber Orchestra.

Conducted by Jan Söderblom, we will also hear Bach’s beloved 3rd orchestral suite in a string version – which also includes the composer’s well-known Air – and the late romantic octet from 1902 by Reinhold Gliére of Ukrainian background.
