🪗✨2026 PROGRAM HAS NOW BEEN ANNOUNCED AND TICKET SALES ARE OPEN!! ✨🪗
At the opening concert of the 2026 Kokkola Winter Accordion Festival on 14.2, you will see, hear and experience the legend of Finnish music DALLAPÉ 🎷🎹🥁The most memorable Valentine’s Day evening with swinging and nostalgic music is promised! Did you know that this orchestra is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year? Respect!
The festival promises traditions, novelties, surprises, and of course the accordion is at the center of everything. The instrument is so versatile that there is something for everyone, even if traditional accordion music doesn’t appeal to you. How about an electronically expanded accordion, for example?
The ninth new Finnish accordion concerto will have its premiere thanks to the successful collaboration with the Central Ostrobothnia Chamber Orchestra. Welcome to experience Sampo Kasurinen’s new accordion concerto interpreted by Harri Kuusijärvi at Friday’s ElektroAkustisUutta concert ⚡️
We are also excited to have Jonna Pirttijoki and the Aqueça quintet performing at the festival! In the “Never before seen” section, we will hear what the insides of the accordion, aka harmonicas, sound like! On Tuesday, the harmonica master quartet Sväng invites its listeners on a confusing sound journey in their own words. So let’s go!
On Thursday, the festival will once again arrive at the Schauman Hall in Pietarsaari with the “Allsång i Jeppis” concert, where the festival crowd will get to open their vocal cords in a group sing-along.
But what about the highlight of the week, the Great Entertainment Concert? Well, by public request this year there will be Great Entertainment Concerts! The two-part entertainment concert format returns to Snellman Music Centre when the captivating Oona Airola and baritone Waltteri Torikka take to the stage as soloists of the Guardia Nueva Orchestra.
All this AND MUCH MORE again in Kokkola in February 2026. We offer a total of 32 events, 26 of which are free. So come as you are!
